Adams has chosen Rush - Limelight as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Howard shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Adams manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Howard drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Howard jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Howard postures up in Adams's guard and throws a big left but Adams blocks it.

Adams is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Howard postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Howard won't allow Adams to sweep him here.
Howard trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Howard not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Howard wants to stand and escape but instead Adams has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Adams is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Howard is trying to escape and Adams transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Howard is forced to tap! Nice work there by Adams! Very nice indeed!
