Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Steiner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jonathan Coleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peter Steiner!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Hugh Johnson and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Steiner shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Coleman manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Coleman throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Coleman is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Steiner has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Coleman is proving hard to escape from.
Coleman wants to stand but Steiner is controlling the position.

Coleman has his foot on Steiner's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Steiner works his way back into a safe position though.
Steiner is looking to stand up but Coleman won't let him.

Steiner got a little sloppy there for a moment and Coleman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Steiner has managed to get both his arms back between Coleman's legs - danger averted.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Steiner stays in close to Coleman's body and controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Steiner tries to close the distance and clinch up but Coleman swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Coleman counters with a single leg into guard. Steiner didn't expect that.
Jonathan Coleman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Steiner.
Coleman wants to stand but Steiner has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Steiner throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Coleman was covering up waiting for the punch and Steiner finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Peter Steiner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Steiner wants to control but Coleman is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Coleman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Coleman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Steiner keeps working.

Steiner makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Steiner has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Coleman is trying to keep an underhook but Steiner manages to get the takedown into half guard.

and Steiner counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Peter Steiner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Steiner has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
