PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Earth Quake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Professor F (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quake comes to the cage accompanied by PRODIGY - RUN WITH THE WOLVES . F is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by shortest man in world. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Earth Quake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Professor F!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quake misses with an uppercut. F saw that one coming.

F closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Quake on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Quake tries to get out of the position.
Quake keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
F throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Quake manages to get to full guard.
Quake trying to control the position.
F trying to control the position from guard on top but Quake is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
F is pushing down on Quake's leg trying to pass to half guard. Quake is fighting to maintain full guard but F has managed to sneak the leg through.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
F throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
F throwing shots but Quake is blocking nicely.
F is thwarting Quake's attempts to control the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

F is trying to work for a kimura but Quake is defending well.

F thows a big elbow that misses.
Quake looking to hit a scissor sweep but F is one step ahead there.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
F thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

F with a flurry of punches that miss.

Professor F dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


F misses with a straight left.
Quake tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but F paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Quake throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
F fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Quake moves out of range of the strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Quake looks for the body kick but F saw that one coming.
F scores with a jab.
Quake looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Quake fails in his attempt to clinch.
F slips a jab from Quake.
Quake is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Quake throws out a loose jab but F uses good head movement to avoid it.
Quake steps to the side to avoid the strikes from F.
Quake misses with an uppercut.
Quake throws an overhand right that lands on F's shoulder, as F tries to avoid the shot.
F scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Earth Quake is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

The fight stays on the outside here - Quake looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Quake tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but F was well out of range. Poor timing from Quake.
Quake wants to clinch up but F keeps it at a distance.

F thows a left - swing and a miss!
Quake lands with an overhand left.
Quake throws a leg kick that misses.

Quake cracks the inside of F's front leg.
Quake moves in looking to clinch but F pushes him off.
Quake misses with a few strikes there.
Quake misses with a double jab.
Quake is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by F.
Quake throws a nice looking combination but F bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Quake tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. F manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Quake tries to close the distance and clinch but F swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

The crowd cheers as F lands an impressive looking overhand right. Quake doesn't seem phased though.
Quake throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nice defenses there by F.
Quake blocks a jab.

F scores with a takedown into Quake's guard.
Quake tries to land a sweep but no joy.
F is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Earth Quake dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


F throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Quake sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Quake misses with a wild combination.
F circles away from the clinch attempt.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from F.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Quake doesn't manage to clinch there - F circles away.
Quake loads up on a big right hand but F slips the punch.
Crunch! Quake slams his shin into F's torso.

Quake throws a nice looking combination but F bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
F checks a leg kick.
Quake moves out of range of the strikes.
Quake misses with a low kick.
Quake wants to clinch.
F ducks under a wild hook from Quake.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
F defending well as Quake loads up on a big left hand.
F staying out of range there.
Quake takes a swing at F's ribcage but misses.
Quake tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but F paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Quake is looking to clinch but F is avoiding it.
Quake attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
F swats away the attempt to clinch by Quake.
F lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Quake misses the shot to the body.
Quake avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
F is looking to clinch but Quake is avoiding it.
Quake throws a right hand that F ducks under and follows up with a left that F also avoids with ease.
Quake walks into a straight right hand from F.
An inside leg kick from Quake misses.
Quake closes the distance but F moves to the side

and F counters with a nice double leg into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Quake avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Quake is trying to keep F in close.
F is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.


It looks like Earth Quake has been cut.
Quake is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
F postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

And that's the end of the fight!
Professor F comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think F has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
