Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Garruk Wildspeaker!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Assassin closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Wildspeaker prevents Assassin from moving into mount.
Wildspeaker is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Assassin asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Assassin tries for a kimura but Wildspeaker is defending well.
Assassin looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Wildspeaker is avoiding damage well.

Assassin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wildspeaker, who protects the arm well.

Assassin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Wildspeaker has escaped the position, nice work there.

Assassin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Assassin looks up at the clock and then as Wildspeaker takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Assassin smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Assassin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wildspeaker is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Assassin tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Assassin working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Assassin goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Wildspeaker has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Assassin but great work by Wildspeaker.

Assassin can't escape the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Wildspeaker working the ground and pound effectively.
Assassin is desperately trying to improve his position but Wildspeaker has a good base and remains in mount.
Wildspeaker throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Assassin tries to reverse the position but Wildspeaker maintains control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Wildspeaker unloads with some shots from mount but Assassin bucks and avoids them well.
Assassin is in all sorts of trouble here.
Wildspeaker lands a big shot there that rocks Assassin but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Wildspeaker prevents Assassin from getting the reversal.
Wildspeaker looking to control but Assassin is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Assassin is looking to improve his position but Wildspeaker isn't that keen on the idea.
Assassin sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ninja Assassin dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Wildspeaker misses with a takedown attempt - Assassin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Assassin has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Wildspeaker is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Assassin yanks on the arm and Wildspeaker is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Assassin.
