Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Hansen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jepoy Saraba!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saraba moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Jepoy Saraba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hansen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Saraba is fending him off so far but Hansen persists. Nope, Saraba circles away and we're back to standing.

Saraba instigates a clinch.

Saraba gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Saraba seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Saraba perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Saraba really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hansen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Saraba throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Hansen is looking to control Saraba's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hansen avoid being mounted?
Saraba is just content to waste time from the top position. Hansen takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Hansen can't keep his opponent in guard - Saraba advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Hansen is breathing heavily.

Hansen is staying active underneath Saraba, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Saraba is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hansen defends it well.
Saraba wants to get back to his feet.
Saraba thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hansen's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Saraba is looking to take a break and control but Hansen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Saraba counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Saraba slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Hansen avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Hansen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

and Saraba counters with a single leg into guard. Hansen didn't expect that.
Hansen is pulling down on Saraba's head. It's preventing any offense from Saraba, at least for the moment.

Saraba drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hansen looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hansen looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hansen!

Hansen gets to mount! Saraba was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Saraba is desperately trying to improve his position but Hansen has a good base and remains in mount.
Saraba wants to hold on but Hansen pushes him away.
Saraba manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Hansen is looking for a kimura but Saraba is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hansen to get the leverage.
Saraba is trying to maintain the position but Hansen is very close to passing his half guard.

Saraba moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Saraba has control of Hansen's left arm, preventing Hansen from doing any damage.

Despite being in the dominant position, Jepoy Saraba just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hansen shoots in and bounces Saraba off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Hansen forces his way into half guard.

Saraba kicks off Hansen and gets to his feet.

Saraba closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Hansen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Saraba's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Saraba's back!
Hansen is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Saraba tries to break free.

Jepoy Saraba showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Saraba is trying to work for a kimura but Hansen is defending well.
Saraba is stalling here. Hansen is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Saraba seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Hansen has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Saraba postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hansen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Saraba, into his guard.

Saraba seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Daniel Hansen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Saraba has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
