Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rya Koc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernando Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rya Koc!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fernando Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koc slaps away a takedown attempt from Gracie, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Fernando Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A left and a right from Koc both land. Nice combination.
Gracie is looking to clinch.

Koc shoots in and bounces Gracie off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Gracie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Koc defends it easily.

Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Koc gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Gracie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Koc doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Koc manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Koc got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Koc has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted.

Koc stands up over Gracie, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Koc keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gracie's head.

Gracie has his foot on Koc's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Koc works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Koc's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Fernando Gracie will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Gracie drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Koc throws his legs up looking for a submission but Gracie uses it to pass to side control.

Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Koc knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Koc is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gracie off and has taken his back!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fernando Gracie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Gracie uses his free foot to push down on Koc's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Koc.
