Thomson comes to the cage accompanied by If I cant. Burnquist has chosen "Blut Royale" by Combichrist as his entrance music. Bob Burnquist has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomson darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Burnquist feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Thomson's calf.
Burnquist connects with a high kick.

It looks like Craig Thomson has been cut.

Thomson throws a hook to the side of Burnquist's head but Burnquist sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Thomson avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Burnquist tries to clinch there but Thomson circles away.
Thomson keeps the fight on the outside.
Burnquist shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Burnquist will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Burnquist drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Burnquist throws a push kick but Thomson slaps the foot to one side.

Burnquist looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Thomson is fending him off so far but Burnquist persists. Nope, Thomson circles away and we're back to standing.
Craig Thomson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bob Burnquist.

Burnquist shoots for a takedown but Thomson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Thomson moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Thomson rushes Burnquist with punches - Burnquist moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Burnquist goes down! Thomson follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
