Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ippo Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akira Sakurai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hammer comes to the ring accompanied by Overkill - Hammerhead. Ippo Hammer looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Taro Takaoka and Sosuke Kotani.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammer fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sakurai defending well as Hammer loads up on a big left hand.
Hammer tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Hammer moves in looking to clinch but Sakurai pushes him off.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Hammer checks a leg kick.
Sakurai misses with a few strikes there.
Hammer tries to clinch but Sakurai is having none of it.
Sakurai swats away the attempt to clinch by Hammer.
Sakurai sizes up Hammer with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Sakurai throws a jab but it's blocked by Hammer.
Hammer throws a head kick that misses.
Sakurai throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hammer throws a sloppy head kick and Sakurai moves out of range easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Sakurai counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Hammer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sakurai connects with a jab.
Hammer with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Sakurai to score with a decent uppercut.
Sakurai throws a right and a left that Hammer avoids nicely.

Hammer is breathing heavily.
Sakurai wants to control from the top but Hammer keeps moving.

Sakurai drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hammer dives on top into guard.
Hammer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sakurai swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sakurai bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hammer's guard.

Sakurai is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Oh Hammer is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Sakurai drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sakurai jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Sakurai is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hammer knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Sakurai looks up at the clock and then as Hammer takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Sakurai smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Sakurai is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Hammer is trying to escape and Sakurai transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Hammer is forced to tap! Nice work there by Sakurai! Very nice indeed!
