Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ty Law (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Common (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Law comes to the cage accompanied by Hate Me Now. Common is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: All I Do Is Win. Ty Law had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Law shoots for a double leg takedown but Common sprawls well. He's pushed Law's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A left and a right from Common both land. Nice combination.
Common shoots and misses

and Law counters with a nice double leg into side control. Common won't be happy with that.
Law sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Common is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Law wants to control but Common is keeping him busy.
Law is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Law tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Law has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Common looks to move to half guard but instead Law has passed into mount! Damn!
Common slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Law passes to side control.
Law will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
You can see the frustration on Common's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Law wants to lay and pray for a moment but Common keeps working.
Common tries to bench press Law off him but Law keeps the position.

Common tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Law wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Law darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Law looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Common won't allow Law to pass to mount.

Common wants to get back to his feet.
Law throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Law is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Common sees it coming and defends easily.
Common is trying to stand back up but Law is controlling him

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Common circles away from the clinch attempt.

Common gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Law to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Law trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Common is trying to control the position but Law postures up.
Law stops Common from standing up.
Common looking for a sweep. Not yet Common, not yet.
Common is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Law trying to control but Common is working from the bottom.
Law is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Law postures up in Common's guard and throws a big left but Common blocks it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Donk. Law catches Common right on the button with a cross.

That's time! Law's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Law has gone for a leg lock! Common slips out almost immediately though and dives into Law's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Law is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Common defends well.
Common controls from within his opponent's guard.
Common stopping the sweep attempt from Law.
Common with a flurry of punches that miss.
Common trying to control the position from guard on top but Law is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Law not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Law has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Common lands a two punch combo.
Law shoots in for a double leg but Common sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Law looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Common is fending him off so far but Law persists. Nope, Common circles away and we're back to standing.

Law shoots in for a takedown but Common shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Oh Law is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Common fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Law, pushing him back against the cage.

Common manages to break the clinch.
Law drops his hands momentarily and Common needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Law just on the top of the head. Law drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Law - he's done!
