Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ted mandingo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tam Tran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tam Tran has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ted mandingo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tam Tran!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tran shoots in and drives through. mandingo sprawls well.

Tran shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
mandingo tries to get back to half guard but can't.
mandingo is trying to stand.
Tran trying to control but mandingo is having none of it.
mandingo is looking to get to half guard.
Tran tries to control but mandingo wriggling away.
mandingo trying desperately to get to his feet.
Tran trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Tran has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of mandingo's face.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

mandingo is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Tran trying to control but mandingo is having none of it.

Tran is going oldschool here, as he tries to force mandingo to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so mandingo shrugs it off.
Tran thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
mandingo really wants to buck Tran off and get back to his feet.

Tran is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Tran looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

mandingo rushes Tran and presses him up against the cage.
Tran has mandingo pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. mandingo manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Ted mandingo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tam Tran.

mandingo keeps control of Tran as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
mandingo stalls.

mandingo gets control of Tran's arms and successfully pulls guard. mandingo will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

mandingo wriggles free and stands up.

A looping hook to the body misses from Tran. mandingo does a little dance to reset his feet.

No joy there for mandingo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Tran looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
mandingo wants to stand but Tran is controlling the position.

mandingo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
mandingo is looking to stand up but Tran isn't so interested in that idea.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

mandingo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Tran looks gassed!

mandingo tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Tran wants to improve his position but mandingo is controlling well.
mandingo wants to get back to his feet.
Tran is looking to improve his position.
mandingo is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Tran manages to get to full guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tam Tran will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

mandingo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tran circles away quickly and effectively.
No luck for mandingo with that takedown attempt.

and mandingo counters with a thumping low kick.

mandingo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tran was covering up waiting for the punch and mandingo finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Tran is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. mandingo is aware though and is defending well.

Tran scrambles and gets back to his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Tran dives in and grabs mandingo's left leg, looking for a takedown. mandingo pushes down on Tran's head and hops out.
mandingo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A right-left combo lands from mandingo.
mandingo scores with a jab to the body.
mandingo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

mandingo has picked Tran up - he's going for a ride! mandingo dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
mandingo tries to stand and escape but Tran is controlling the position.

Ted mandingo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

mandingo has closed the distance and engaged Tran in a clinch.

mandingo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

mandingo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tran to the mat! Tran manages to get full guard.
Tran is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Tran isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. mandingo stacks Tran on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by mandingo!

Tran tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. mandingo smiles and moves away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tran throws a wild body kick that mandingo sees coming a mile off.
mandingo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tran but Tran pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Tran jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as mandingo walks away with a smile on his face. Tran gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

mandingo is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Tran can't fight it off and eventually mandingo manages to take the fight to the floor. Tran looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Tran takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
mandingo wants to stand but Tran has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

mandingo gets to his feet. Tran looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

mandingo shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Tran is trying to defend but mandingo finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
mandingo wants to stand up but Tran is controlling the position.

mandingo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Tran is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

mandingo gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Tran tries to land knees in the clinch but mandingo avoids the damage to the body.

mandingo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
mandingo feints and then cracks Tran's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Tran down.

mandingo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Tran takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

mandingo moves into the clinch.
mandingo lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
mandingo dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
mandingo scores with a hook to the body.

mandingo gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Tran regains guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tran trying to keep a closed guard but mandingo is proving a slippery customer.
mandingo is looking to stand up but Tran won't let him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

mandingo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

mandingo decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Well mandingo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
