The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Niechonski throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Scott I.
Niechonski lands a left and a right that send Scott I crashing to the mat, dazed. Niechonski thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Scott I is rocked!
It looks like Joesy Scott I has been cut.
Niechonski swings for the body but Scott I moves out of range.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Scott I!
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Niechonski misses with a double jab.
Scott I shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Scott I is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Niechonski has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Niechonski!
Niechonski with a flurry of punches that miss.
Niechonski tries to stand but Scott I is controlling from the bottom.
Niechonski is breathing heavily.
Scott I avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Scott I holds on and takes a little breather.
Niechonski in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Niechonski trying to move into half guard but instead Scott I has managed to sweep!
Scott I wants to pass the guard but Niechonski is keeping the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Scott I bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Scott I drives through with a takedown into guard.
Scott I drops back looking for a leg! Niechonski is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Niechonski manages to kick Scott I off! Scott I jumps back into Niechonski's guard.
Scott I drops back, looking for a kneebar! Niechonski looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Niechonski looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Niechonski!

Niechonski tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Niechonski has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
You can see the frustration on Scott I's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Niechonski throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Scott I struggling a bit here.
Niechonski throwing strikes but Scott I manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Scott I looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Scott I is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Niechonski has escaped the position, nice work there.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Niechonski pushes Scott I away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Scott I gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Scott I is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Niechonski looks calm but he's in trouble here. Scott I gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Niechonski is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Scott I lets go of the hold and Niechonski can pop his arm back in it's socket.
