Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert ORourke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dammahom Malsi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). ORourke comes to the cage accompanied by Finnegan's Wake. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert ORourke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dammahom Malsi!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Reed Andrews and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malsi stuffs the takedown attempt from ORourke. ORourke gets slowly back to his feet.
ORourke shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Malsi but Malsi pushes him off and we're back to square one.
ORourke could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

ORourke feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Malsi wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

ORourke swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Robert ORourke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Malsi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
ORourke shoots for a double leg takedown but Malsi sprawls well. He's pushed ORourke's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

ORourke shoots in looking for a takedown. Malsi tries to sprawl out of it but ORourke keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Malsi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Nice takedown defense from Malsi. No joy for ORourke on that attempt.

Malsi parries the strikes from ORourke easily there. ORourke is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Malsi to escape.

ORourke sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Malsi is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Malsi is trying to get back to half guard.
Malsi pushes ORourke away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, ORourke gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
ORourke wants to control but Malsi is keeping him busy.
ORourke has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

ORourke will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Malsi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. ORourke tries to avoid it but Malsi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag ORourke to the ground. ORourke escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Malsi sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

ORourke shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
ORourke wants to take a breather but Malsi is having none of it.
ORourke with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
ORourke slips a nice elbow through Malsi's hands, connecting with Malsi's forehead.

Malsi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with ORourke. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Malsi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in ORourke's guard.
