PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Dundee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lewis comes to the cage accompanied by He is here !. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Dundee!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis blocks a head kick by Dundee.
Lewis fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dundee stuffs the takedown.
Dundee tries to clinch but Lewis moves away

and Lewis counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Dundee is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Dundee takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Lewis misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Lewis blocking the ground and pound attempt from Dundee.
Dundee not doing much here.

Dundee prevents Lewis from standing back up.
Lewis is trying to control but can't.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Dundee bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Dundee throws a strike aimed at the side of Lewis's head but Lewis avoids it well.
Dundee moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Lewis is trying to get back to his feet.
Dundee is staying tight to Lewis's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Dundee lands some shots froms side control.

Dundee decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Lewis shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lewis was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Lewis manages to capitalize on a mistake by Dundee to take his back!

You can see the frustration on Dundee's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Dundee tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Dundee is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Lewis controlling his opponent.
Lewis blocks Dundee's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Dundee is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Dundee regains half guard.
Lewis is breathing heavily.

Lewis is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dundee doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lewis.

Dundee looks like he's trying to stand up.

Dundee is trying to stand up here but Lewis is controlling him well.
Lewis looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

and Dundee counters with a single leg into guard. Lewis didn't expect that.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Dundee's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Dundee dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Dundee pushes Lewis off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Dundee wants to get back to his feet but Lewis is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Lewis wants to stand but Dundee is controlling his posture from full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dundee takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Dundee can't do much from the bottom here.
Dundee is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Lewis is controlling him well.
Dundee wants to get back to his feet but Lewis is dominant here and he's now got Dundee's back!

Lewis is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Dundee defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Lewis lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Dundee looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
The referee is taking a good look at Dundee as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Lewis!

Dundee is trying to get back to his feet but Lewis has full control of the position and if anything, Dundee has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Lewis scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Dundee turns into Lewis and is now in his guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dundee shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Dundee tries to keep at a distance but Lewis has taken the fight into the clinch.
Lewis's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Dundee tries to score a body lock takedown but Lewis shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Dundee tightens his grip and picks Lewis up, before dumping him to the ground. Lewis manages to land in guard.

so Lewis counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Dundee wants to get back to his feet but Lewis passes into half guard.
Lewis moves nicely into side control.
Lewis prevents Dundee from escaping the position.

Lewis stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Mike Lewis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Dundee closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lewis to the mat! Lewis manages to get full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dundee seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Paul Dundee.

I would just about give that final round to Paul Dundee.
I think Dundee has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
