Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Freddie Figgjo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toshihiro Kai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Figgjo's entrance music is Edward Grieg. A fine choice. Toshihiro Kai will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Toshihiro Kai!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Figgjo tries to clinch but Kai moves out of range.
Kai lands a nice hook to Figgjo's body. Figgjo takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
A big right from Kai misses.
Figgjo is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Kai looks to land a right hand but Figgjo moved out of range.
Figgjo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kai swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Kai throws a body punch but Figgjo moves out of range.

Kai tries to clinch there but Figgjo circles away.
Kai throws a hook but Figgjo avoids it easily.
Toshihiro Kai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kai takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Figgjo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kai swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kai. Figgjo does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Kai cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Kai darts in and clinches Figgjo up against the cage.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kai.
Kai looking to slow down the pace here.
Kai swings wildly with an uppercut but Figgjo uses good head movement to avoid it.
Figgjo throws an elbow but it misses.
Kai breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kai lands a two punch combo.
Figgjo misses with a leg kick.
Kai circles away from the clinch attempt
and Kai counters with a nice uppercut.
Figgjo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kai sprawls well initially but Figgjo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Figgjo moves nicely into side control.
Kai is trying to buck Figgjo off.
Figgjo working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Figgjo looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kai wants to get back to his feet but Figgjo drags him back down.
Figgjo in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Figgjo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kai has escaped the position, nice work there.
Kai tries to escape but Figgjo is in control.
Kai is looking for a sweep.

Kai is pushing Figgjo's head away, looking to escape. Figgjo manages to hold on to the position though.

Kai pushes Figgjo away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Figgjo gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Figgjo has hold of Kai's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Kai tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Figgjo cranks the arm and Kai screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Kai, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
