Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Garrett Day (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Willis McGenessy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying McGenessy's choice of entrance music: Punch Out!!!. Willis McGenessy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Day avoids a punch combination nicely.

McGenessy swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Day is breathing heavily.
McGenessy is wriggling around but Day manages to pass to half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Day stands up and beckons McGenessy to join him on the feet.
Day keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Day avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Garrett Day seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Day closes the distance and clinches up with McGenessy, looking for a takedown. Day pushes McGenessy against the cage but McGenessy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Day.

McGenessy tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Day is able to avoid easily.

Day throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

McGenessy defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Day.

McGenessy has closed the distance and engaged Day in a clinch.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Day is trying to drag McGenessy to the mat but McGenessy just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

McGenessy's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
