Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jf Cabral!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kenneth Paul!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paul connects with a right hand. Cabral shakes it off.
Cabral shoots in but Paul avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cabral is defended easily by Paul.
Cabral misses with a leg kick.
Paul throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cabral's waist but Cabral gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Paul off to one side.
Cabral closes this distance looking for a takedown but Paul circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jf Cabral. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cabral bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Paul manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Paul tries to get to full guard but Cabral has control of the leg.

Paul is looking for a sweep. Cabral is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Paul has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cabral is working away from the top position though.
Cabral is stalling here. Paul is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Cabral seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Paul has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Cabral is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Paul off and has taken his back!

Paul rolls, trying to escape but Cabral keeps control of the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Cabral doesn't have the hooks in and Paul manages to turn into his guard.

Cabral uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Cabral looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

A right-left combo lands from Paul.
Paul closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cabral circles away.

Paul lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Paul.
Cabral shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Paul to counter with a crisp jab.
Paul throws a front kick that sends Cabral stumbling back into the cage.

and Paul counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Cabral decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Paul's guard.
Cabral wants to pass the guard but Paul is keeping the position.

Paul looking for a sweep. Not yet Paul, not yet.
Cabral trying to control but Paul is working from the bottom.
Paul looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Paul pushes Cabral off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Paul counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

No joy there for Cabral, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Cabral avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Cabral stuffs the takedown attempt from Paul. Paul gets slowly back to his feet.

Cabral jumps guard but Paul stands there with Cabral around his waist. Cabral gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

and Paul counters by moving into the clinch.
Paul can't break the clinch.
Paul jumps guard but Cabral stands there with Paul around his waist. Paul gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Paul is trying to force a seperation but Cabral has the dominant position.

Cabral gets control of Paul's arms and successfully pulls guard. Cabral will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Paul really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cabral. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Paul wants to stand but Cabral has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Paul must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cabral keeping full guard, as Paul tries to pass.
Cabral bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Paul's guard.
Cabral wants to control from the top but Paul keeps moving.
Cabral is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Paul is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

A close second round but Kenneth Paul will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Cabral's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Paul shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Paul showed some decent athleticism there.

Well Paul has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
