Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Hubert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Hartin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Hubert!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric Hartin!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hartin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hartin fails to land the takedown.

Hubert instigates a clinch.
Hartin wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Hubert lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Hartin manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Hubert stays in close to Hartin's body and controls the position.
Hartin has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Hubert has passed into side control.
Hubert wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hartin keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hartin has control of an arm but Hubert manages to advance to Hubert's back!
Hartin really must keep his cool here. He's controlling one of Hubert's hands and whilst he does that, he's got a chance of escaping the position.

Hubert lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Hubert.

Hartin tries to roll but Hubert sticks to his back.

Hartin is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Hubert is trying to stick to Hartin's back but Hartin is turning into Hubert. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Hubert's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Hartin.
Hubert wants to get back to his feet but Hartin is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Hubert had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Hartin is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hubert Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Hartin's back instead.
Hubert has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Hartin's body.
Hubert is breathing heavily.
Hartin trying to control the position but Hubert manages to sink in the hooks.

Hartin turns into Hubert and is now in his guard.
Hubert managing to control the position.

Hartin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Hubert instigates a clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Hubert.

Hartin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hartin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hubert looking for a sweep but Hartin has passed into full mount! Oh no!

Hartin controlling the pace for now.
Hubert is looking to improve his position but Hartin isn't that keen on the idea.

Hartin avoids the attempt from Hubert to control.

Hartin is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Hubert has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Hubert!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that John Hubert will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Hubert shoots in for a takedown but Hartin shows good takedown defense.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hartin tries for a takedown but Hubert manages to get underhooks.
Hubert on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Hubert turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Hartin is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Hartin manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hartin gets full guard.

Hartin uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Hubert wants to clinch.

Hubert takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Hubert is looking to clinch but Hartin is avoiding it.
Hubert goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Hartin darts in and clinches Hubert up against the cage.
Hartin is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Hubert has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Hartin clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Hartin controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Hartin can't escape the position.
Hubert is working the ground and pound. Can Hartin escape?
Hartin wants to get back to his feet.

Hubert is trying to stick to Hartin's back but Hartin is turning into Hubert. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Hubert's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Hartin.

Hubert wants to sweep here but Hartin controlling him for the moment.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hartin checks a low kick from Hubert.
Hartin throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Hubert counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Hartin is trying to stand.
Hartin tries to roll over but Hubert keeps him under control.

Hartin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hubert can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hartin is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Hartin tries to break the clinch but Hubert is controlling the position.

Hartin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hartin tries to land a knee to the head but Hubert blocks with his arms.
Hartin can't break the clinch.
Hartin wants a takedown.
John Hubert has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Hartin.
Hartin wants a takedown but no success here.
Hartin's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Hartin manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Hartin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That was a close second round but I would say that John Hubert will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Hubert looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Hartin!
Hartin tries to lock up and control but Hubert gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Hartin is squirming around, avoiding Hubert's attempts to control the action.

Hubert wants to finish this one by submission but Hartin is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hubert.
Hubert avoids the attempt from Hartin to control.
Hartin is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Hartin working to try and regain half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hubert trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Hartin wants to control but Hubert is having none of it.
Hartin is working to get back to half guard.
Hubert can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hartin is looking to escape.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hubert avoids the attempt from Hartin to control.
Hubert trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Hartin is desperately trying to improve his position but Hubert has a good base and remains in mount.
Hartin throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Hartin bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Hartin won't allow Hubert to get back to his feet.
Hartin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Hartin throwing strikes from guard but Hubert blocks nicely.
Hartin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hubert swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hubert is working an open guard so Hartin takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Hubert fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hartin sprawls well initially but Hubert persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Hubert looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Hartin is trying to control but can't.
Eric Hartin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

John Hubert overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hartin tries to roll over but Hubert keeps him under control.
Hartin is trying to control but can't.
Hartin is refusing to be controlled, as Hubert sits in half guard.
Hartin gets back to full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Hartin throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John Hubert.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hubert, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
