The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown fails to land with a series of punches.

Mahones drops Brown with a left right combo! Mahones follows him down to the ground into side control.

It looks like Leroy Brown has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brown is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Mahones's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Brown is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mahones with the ground and pound but Brown uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Mahones has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Brown is proving hard to escape from.
Brown bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mahones's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brown lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brown loads up with a big shot that hurts Mahones! He's pulled Brown in close but Brown has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Mahones survive? More strikes from Brown and Mahones is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
