The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jokinen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Van damm checks a leg kick.
Van damm avoids the head kick by Jokinen.
Jokinen shoots in and drives through. Van damm sprawls well.
Van damm swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Jokinen makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Van damm with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Jokinen goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Van damm misses with a hook. Jokinen ducked under it nicely.
Jokinen dodges the punch combination from Van damm.
Van damm throws a head kick that Jokinen semi-blocks.

Jokinen shoots in looking for a takedown. Van damm tries to sprawl out of it but Jokinen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Van damm manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Van damm wants to get up but he can't break Jokinen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
