Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Peter Ware (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gustav Graves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Gustav Graves enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Ware!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gustav Graves!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ware misses with a few strikes there.
Graves shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Horrible takedown by Graves or perhaps it was just good defense by Ware which made him look bad.
Ware works over Graves's head and body with a nice combination.
Ware loads up on a big right hand but Graves slips the punch.
Ware throws a low kick but Graves avoids it.

Ware clinches.
Graves can't break the clinch.
Graves goes for a takedown in the clinch but Ware prevents it.
Peter Ware has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gustav Graves.
Graves prevents Ware from breaking the clinch.
Ware wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Graves has him pressed against the cage.
Ware tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Graves just stands there and leans against the cage.
Graves has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ware is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Graves tries to pull guard but Ware won't allow it.
Graves wants to break free but Ware has control.
Graves drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Ware jumps into guard, dragging Graves to the mat.
Graves wants to get up but he can't break Ware's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Graves trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Graves has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ware is proving hard to escape from.

Graves stops Ware from standing up.
Ware is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Graves drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ware manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Graves has Ware in his guard.
Ware passes Graves's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Ware is just content to waste time from the top position. Graves takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Ware stands up and waves to Graves to follow him.
Ware keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Graves looks gassed!
Ware jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Ware lands the left hand.
Graves shoots for a takedown but Ware saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Graves shoots in and drives through. Ware sprawls well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ware with a hook.
Graves shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ware as he avoids it easily.
Ware bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Graves's head.

Ware gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Ware breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ware swings for the body but Graves moves out of range.
Nice sprawl there from Ware as Graves shoots in.
Graves looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ware is fending him off so far but Graves persists. Nope, Ware circles away and we're back to standing.
Graves tries to clinch up.

Ware fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Graves sprawls well initially but Ware persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Graves missing with punches from the bottom.
Graves gets back to full guard.
Ware not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Graves tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Ware wants to pass the guard but Graves is keeping the position.

Graves is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Graves has momentary wrist control but Ware slips an elbow through the middle.
Graves looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ware is one step ahead there.
Ware controls from within his opponent's guard.

Graves is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Graves looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Ware has picked Graves up and slammed him! Graves can't keep hold of the triangle and Ware manages to pass to side control!
Ware content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Graves tries to improve position but can't.
Graves manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Graves moves nicely into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Graves is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ware has escaped the position, nice work there.

Graves is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ware knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ware tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Graves wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Ware dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Ware forces Graves back against the cage and clinches.
Ware can't break the clinch.

Graves drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Graves jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Ware is trying to keep Graves in close.

Ware is looking for a triangle but Graves pushes his legs off easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ware is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Graves is controlling him.

Graves has gone for a leg lock! Ware slips out almost immediately though and dives into Graves's guard.
Graves working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ware.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Graves is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Graves trying to advance position but Ware counters by regaining guard.
Ware on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ware tries to get out of the position.
Graves stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ware swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Graves working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ware doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Graves is tightening it up a little... Ware has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Ware reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Ware taps out! nice BJJ there by Graves!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Gustav Graves!
