Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Will Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diago Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Connor comes to the cage accompanied by 50 Cents- Many Men. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Diago Sanchez enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Will Connor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Diago Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connor has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sanchez finds it's way round the side to connect with Connor's head.
Connor shoots in but no luck this time.
Connor tries a head kick but it misses.
Connor looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Connor.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Will Connor. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Connor takes a kick to the side of the head.
Connor thumps Sanchez with a low kick.
Sanchez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Connor.

Connor drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Connor throwing strikes but missing.
Sanchez controls Connor momentarily but Connor frees himself.

Sanchez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sanchez keeping full guard, as Connor tries to pass.
Connor trying to control the position from guard on top but Sanchez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Sanchez is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Sanchez trying to control the position but instead, Connor has worked for underhooks and has pushed Sanchez into the cage.
Connor misses with a short punch on the inside.
Sanchez is looking to break free of the clinch but Connor has double underhooks.

Sanchez is trying to stall.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Connor struggles to land a body shot inside as Sanchez controls his hands.
Sanchez is trying to break the clinch but Connor has him pressed against the cage.

Sanchez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sanchez leaves Connor with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Connor gets caught flat footed, as Sanchez shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Sanchez trying to control the position from guard on top but Connor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Connor looking for a sweep. Not yet Connor, not yet.
Connor is working hard here to advance position.
Connor can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sanchez controls the pace.

Connor controls Sanchez momentarily but Sanchez frees himself.
Sanchez trying to control the position from guard on top but Connor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Sanchez tests Connor's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Connor bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Sanchez throws a leg kick that is checked

so Connor counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Connor wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving.
Sanchez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Connor manages to get himself to full guard.

Sanchez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Connor swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Connor is trying to control the position but Sanchez postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Diago Sanchez will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Sanchez misses with the combination.
Sanchez tries to bum rush Connor with a series of wild strikes but Connor uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Sanchez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Sanchez clinches up with Connor and pushes him back against the cage.
Connor tries to throw a body punch but Sanchez avoids it by throwing Connor back against the cage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Sanchez lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Sanchez lands a shoulder strike.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Sanchez as Connor tries to tie him up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Sanchez.
Connor tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Connor jumps guard but Sanchez stands there with Connor around his waist. Connor gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Connor blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Sanchez prevents the takedown attempt.

Still in the clinch, Sanchez scores with a nice short uppercut.

Connor prevents Sanchez from breaking the clinch.
Sanchez tries to stall but Connor uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Sanchez swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Connor tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Connor swings wildly with an uppercut but Sanchez uses good head movement to avoid it.

Sanchez throws a left and a right that both miss
letting Connor counter with a right hand.

Sanchez throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Connor ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sanchez moves away.
Connor cracks the inside of Sanchez's front leg.
Sanchez throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Connor misses with a takedown attempt
and Sanchez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Diago Sanchez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sanchez takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Sanchez works the jab nicely.
Connor throws a head kick that misses.
Sanchez falls off balance throwing a combination
and Connor counters with a head kick. That will keep Sanchez thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

and Sanchez counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Sanchez is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Connor has a closed guard, preventing Sanchez from standing up.
Connor striking off his back, scoring a few points.
Connor wants to sweep but no luck.
Connor keeping moving, preventing Sanchez from controlling successfully.
Sanchez showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Connor throws a nice elbow from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sanchez trying to control but Connor is working from the bottom.
Sanchez stands and throws Connor's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Connor tries to improve position but can't.
You can see the frustration on Connor's face as Sanchez controls the position.
Sanchez is looking to take a break and control but Connor is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Diago Sanchez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Connor keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sanchez swings for the body but Connor moves out of range.
Connor closes the distance but Sanchez moves to the side
and Sanchez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Sanchez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Connor was well out of range. Poor timing from Sanchez.

Connor shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sanchez napping and manages to drive through into side control!
You can see the frustration on Sanchez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Connor working the strikes but Sanchez uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Sanchez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Sanchez desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Sanchez avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Connor.
Sanchez is not content to let Connor control the position.
Sanchez keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Connor is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A left lands for Sanchez.
Will Connor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Connor throws a jab but it's blocked by Sanchez.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Connor shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Connor throws a head kick that misses.

Sanchez shoots in and bounces Connor off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Connor looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Will Connor has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sanchez is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Sanchez trying to control but Connor is working from the bottom.
Sanchez controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Sanchez advances to half guard.
Sanchez is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Connor keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Diago Sanchez is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Diago Sanchez has got the better of the ground game so far.
Connor tries to roll over but Sanchez keeps him under control.
Connor is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sanchez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sanchez's back!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sanchez turns into Connor and is now in his guard.

Connor is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sanchez is aware though and is defending well.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Sanchez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Connor is keeping the position for now.

Connor throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Sanchez escapes and throws Connor's legs to the side, diving into side control!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sanchez is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Connor is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sanchez's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Diago Sanchez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Sanchez winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
