Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Stan Dew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bill Paxton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paxton has chosen Rising to the Top by Sean Price as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paxton misses the shot to the body.

Dew wants to get back to his feet.
Paxton takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Paxton stops Dew from getting back to his feet.
Paxton is pressing down on Dew's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dew is holding on for now.

Paxton has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Paxton lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Paxton won't let Dew get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Paxton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dew. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

I looks like Paxton might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Dew's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Paxton throws out a loose jab but Dew uses good head movement to avoid it.

Bill Paxton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Paxton lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Dew really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bill Paxton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Paxton throws a jab but it's blocked by Dew.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Paxton looks to land a combination but Dew avoids it well.

Paxton throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Dew stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dew wants it to stay on the feet.

Paxton closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Paxton stops Dew from getting back to his feet.
Paxton slips a nice elbow through Dew's hands, connecting with Dew's forehead.

Dew pushes Paxton off looking to stand but Paxton dives back in and keeps control.
Paxton is taking a breather. Dew says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Paxton connects with a nice short shot to Dew's temple.

Paxton wants to stand but Dew has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Paxton thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dew's head.

Let's hope that Paxton has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

No joy there for Dew, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Well Paxton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
