Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lui Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Funke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kang comes into the arena with Moby - Extreme Ways blaring out of the sound system. Funke has chosen never gonna stop as his entrance music. Cody Funke has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Funke lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Kang pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A slapping leg kick lands for Kang.
Nice sprawl there from Funke as Kang shoots in.
Kang changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Funke throws a combination. Kang tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Funke throws a right hand that Kang ducks under and follows up with a left that Kang also avoids with ease.
Funke scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Funke shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kang manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kang is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Funke is controlling him.

Funke prevents Kang from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Funke looking to sit in guard and control but Kang gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Funke is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kang is controlling him.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Kang closes the distance and clinches up with Funke, looking for a takedown. Kang pushes Funke against the ropes but Funke circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Funke connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Kang some visible discomfort.

Funke cracks Kang with a big right hand but Kang just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Funke throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Funke shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Still in half guard, Funke seems content to control.
Kang is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Funke takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Kang has hold of Funke's hands but Funke slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Kang is trying to control but can't.
Funke is trying to control. Kang wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Funke winds up and cracks Kang with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Funke looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Funke in particular looking to stall.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.
Let's hope that Funke has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Funke is nestled in close to Kang, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Kang is looking to control Funke's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kang avoid being mounted?

Funke postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Kang to stand up.

Funke closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Funke is thwarting Kang's attempts to control the position.

Kang is trying to stand.
Funke stalling away here and it's allowed Kang to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Funke won't allow Kang to get back to his feet.

Kang has a hand on Funke's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Funke takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Funke lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Funke.
