The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jennings shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

SPIKE closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jennings did well to prevent SPIKE getting side control.

SPIKE is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jennings is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of SPIKE's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take SPIKE's back!

Jennings is pushing down on SPIKE's leg trying to pass to half guard. SPIKE is fighting to maintain full guard but Jennings has managed to sneak the leg through.

SPIKE is looking to stand up but Jennings won't let him.

Jennings might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

SPIKE got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jennings has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, SPIKE has managed to get both his arms back between Jennings's legs - danger averted.

LITTLE SPIKE showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Jennings drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but SPIKE manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jennings has SPIKE in his guard.

Oh but Jennings is tightening it up a little... SPIKE has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! SPIKE reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! SPIKE taps out! nice BJJ there by Jennings!
