Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Aadil Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ned Siv (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aadil Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ned Siv!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Siv was covering up waiting for the punch and Jones finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Jones has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Siv is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Jones is looking to stand up but Siv won't let him.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Siv is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Jones wants to stand and escape but instead Siv has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones controls Siv momentarily but Siv frees himself.
Siv stopping the sweep attempt from Jones.
Siv works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Siv wants to control but Jones is keeping him busy.
Siv is thwarting Jones's attempts to control the position.
Siv is keen to just control but Jones is a slippery customer.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Jones throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Siv with a poor takedown

and Jones counters with a single leg into guard. Siv didn't expect that.

Siv escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Siv looking for a guillotine here but Jones defends easily.
Siv looks gassed!
Jones wants to get up but he can't break Siv's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Siv swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jones postures up.

Siv working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jones doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jones manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Siv is trying to control the position from the bottom.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jones is looking to stand up but Siv won't let him.
Siv looking to control.
Siv might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jones kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Siv tries for a takedown but Jones circles away easily

and Jones counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jones.

Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aadil Jones dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Siv has his takedown stuffed

so Jones counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Siv is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Siv looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there.
Jones wants to control from the top but Siv keeps moving.
Jones works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
It looks like Jones is going to stand back up.
Jones not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Jones trying to control from half guard but Siv is working away.
Jones thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Siv to regain full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jones drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Siv manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jones has Siv in his guard.
Siv wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Siv shoots and misses

and Jones decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Siv's guard.
Jones wants to pass the guard but Siv is keeping the position.
Jones seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Siv keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.
Siv controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Siv looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jones is fending him off so far but Siv persists. Nope, Jones circles away and we're back to standing.

Jones fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Siv sprawls well initially but Jones persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Siv wants to control but Jones is keeping busy.
Jones is looking to advance position but Siv won't allow it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Jones is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Siv manages to get to full guard.
Jones postures up.

Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and Siv has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between Siv's legs - danger averted.

Siv pushes a forearm under Jones's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Jones is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:02 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ned Siv!
