Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kung Lao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and jealous jarvae (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lao's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Mortal Kombat-Techno Kombat. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
jarvae throws a head kick but Lao moves out of range.

Lao lands a really nice looking cross but jarvae seems unphased.

jarvae looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Lao darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lao in particular looking to stall.
jarvae makes his way to full guard. A much better position for jarvae.
jarvae is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

jarvae has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lao is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for jarvae.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
I really don't envy Lao right now.
jarvae throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
jarvae is trying to stick to Lao's back but Lao is turning into jarvae. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in jarvae's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Lao.

jarvae isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lao stacks jarvae on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lao!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Lao takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

jarvae has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Lao is fighting off a takedown attempt but jarvae is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Lao to the mat. Lao regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

jarvae throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Lao swings and misses with a hook to the body.
jarvae misses with an attempted mid kick.
jealous jarvae seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
jarvae shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Lao counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps jarvae thinking.

so Lao counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

jarvae escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lao gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Lao is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Lao's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

jarvae working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lao doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but jarvae is tightening it up a little... Lao has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Lao reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Lao taps out! nice BJJ there by jarvae!
