The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
bertles throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sprockit.
Sprockit avoids the head kick by bertles.
Sprockit tries to clinch but bertles is having none of it.
bertles circles away from the clinch attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
bertles avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

bertles fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sprockit, pushing him back against the cage.

Sprockit has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics bertles uses from the top position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sprockit tries to free his leg and advance position but bertles is retaining full guard.
Sprockit wants to get up but he can't break bertles's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sprockit is looking to advance position but bertles won't allow it.

Sprockit is looking to work his way around to bertles's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Sprockit has control of bertles's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and bertles regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Sprockit takes bertles's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, bertles is in trouble.

bertles dives in and grabs Sprockit's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sprockit pushes down on bertles's head and hops out.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
bertles pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Sprockit tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and bertles counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by bertles.

Sprockit tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. bertles just stands there and leans against the cage.
Sprockit is trying to force a seperation but bertles has the dominant position.

bertles looking to sit in guard and control but Sprockit gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Sprockit sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed bertles's guard.

bertles is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Sprockit has taken his back.

Sprockit has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for bertles! Can he survive? No! He's out! Sprockit gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
