PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gracie Jitsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshikura Mazuri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Yoshikura Mazuri was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gracie Jitsu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshikura Mazuri!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jitsu closes the distance and clinches up with Mazuri, looking for a takedown. Jitsu pushes Mazuri against the cage but Mazuri circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mazuri lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Jitsu at a distance.
Mazuri throws a right hand that Jitsu ducks under and follows up with a left that Jitsu also avoids with ease.
Mazuri misses with an uppercut. Jitsu saw that one coming.
Mazuri pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mazuri tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Mazuri tries to bum rush Jitsu with a series of wild strikes but Jitsu uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jitsu walks into a jab.
Mazuri throws out a leg kick but Jitsu moves out of range and Mazuri only half commits.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mazuri looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mazuri tries to close the distance and clinch but Jitsu swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jitsu circles away from the clinch attempt.

Mazuri connects with a body shot.
Jitsu fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Mazuri clinches up with Jitsu and pushes him back against the cage.
Mazuri looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Jitsu tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mazuri just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gracie Jitsu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mazuri tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Mazuri misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Jitsu.

Jitsu jumps guard and drags Mazuri to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Jitsu working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mazuri doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mazuri manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mazuri wants to control from the top but Jitsu keeps moving.

Mazuri looking to sit in guard and control but Jitsu gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Jitsu has gone for a leg lock! Mazuri slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jitsu's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mazuri tries to free his leg and advance position but Jitsu is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jitsu has his feet on Mazuri's thighs here. He's pushed Mazuri off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Mazuri screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
