Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock Orton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Spitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Spitz will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brock Orton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Spitz!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orton takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Spitz scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


It looks like Brock Orton has been cut.
Spitz tries to bum rush Orton with a series of wild strikes but Orton uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Spitz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Orton manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Orton tries to pass to full mount but Spitz defends it.

Spitz throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Spitz jumps guard but Orton stands there with Spitz around his waist. Spitz gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Orton wants to advance to full mount but Spitz doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Spitz is looking for a triangle here but Orton uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Orton decides to stand up, so the ref orders Spitz to his feet.

Orton moves into the clinch successfully.
Spitz is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Orton is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Spitz defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Orton rushes Spitz and presses him up against the cage.
A nice left hand lands by Orton.

Orton decides to pull guard.

Orton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Orton lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Brock Orton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Orton get's back to his feet.
Orton lands with a shot to the body.

Orton forces Spitz back against the cage and clinches.

Orton is trying to trip Spitz. He has hold of a leg but Spitz is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Orton persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
