Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quinton Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Jackson with that takedown attempt.
Quinton Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jackson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jackson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Anderson's waist but Anderson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jackson off to one side.

Anderson tries to keep at a distance but Jackson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Anderson throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Jackson blocks it with crossed arms.
Anderson gets underhooks to prevent Jackson's takedown attempt.

Jackson drags the fight down to the ground.

Jackson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Anderson's guard.

Jackson stands up and waves to Anderson to follow him.
Anderson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jackson.

Jackson instigates a clinch.
Jackson creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Jackson goes for a takedown attempt but Anderson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Jackson lands a glancing blow to the side of Anderson's head.
Anderson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown but Anderson shows good takedown defense.
Jackson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Jackson lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Nick Anderson has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jackson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jackson.
Nice sprawl there from Anderson as Jackson shoots in.

Jackson throws a head kick but Anderson moves out of range.
Jackson looks for a takedown but Anderson sprawls well.
Anderson finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Anderson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jackson circles away quickly and effectively.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Jackson.

Jackson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Jackson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Anderson for as long as he can get away with.

Jackson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Jackson tries to land a front kick but Anderson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Anderson lands a high kick!
Horrible takedown by Jackson or perhaps it was just good defense by Anderson which made him look bad.
Jackson shoots in looking for a takedown. Anderson tries to sprawl out of it but Jackson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Anderson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jackson.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Quinton Jackson dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Nick Anderson's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Anderson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Anderson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Jackson rushes Anderson and presses him up against the cage.
Jackson is trying to drag Anderson to the mat but Anderson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Anderson looking to stall.
Anderson prevents Jackson from breaking the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A short uppercut from Jackson.

Jackson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Anderson regains guard immediately.
Jackson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Anderson is breathing heavily.
Jackson advances to half guard.

Jackson moves into full mount! Anderson won't be happy about that!

BOOM! Jackson connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Jackson cracks Anderson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Jackson manages to capitalize on a mistake by Anderson to take his back!
Jackson has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Anderson's body.
