Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pappy Shrew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gian Volonte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shrew comes to the cage accompanied by In The Morning. This should be fireworks!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shrew scores with a three punch combo!
Volonte throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Volonte throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Shrew fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Shrew looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shrew takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Shrew shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Shrew is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Volonte escapes and gets back to his feet.

Shrew moves into the clinch successfully.
Volonte has had enough of the clinch but Shrew keeps him there for the moment.
Shrew breaks from the clinch.
Shrew paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
The fighters circle momentarily. Shrew darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Volonte lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Shrew circles away quickly and effectively.
Volonte throws a nice looking combination but Shrew bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Volonte throws a hook to the side of Shrew's head but Shrew sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Shrew throws a series of punches but Volonte avoids them all with ease.
Shrew fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Shrew feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Shrew thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Shrew drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Volonte dives on top into guard.

Shrew is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Volonte defends well.

Shrew manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Volonte manages to get himself to full guard.

Volonte avoids a series of strikes thrown by Shrew.
Shrew is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Volonte has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Volonte!
Shrew pushes Volonte off and scrambles back to his feet.
Shrew closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Volonte did well to prevent Shrew getting side control.

Shrew seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Volonte does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Shrew jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Volonte manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Volonte takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Shrew is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Volonte is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
