Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sir John MacDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joshua Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
MacDonald wants to control from the top but Turner keeps moving.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

MacDonald working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Turner doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Turner manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Turner accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Turner takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Turner content to control rather than advance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Turner stalling away here and it's allowed MacDonald to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

MacDonald tries to lock up and control but Turner gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Turner can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as MacDonald is looking to escape.
Turner lands a big shot there that rocks MacDonald but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Turner is landing with some decent strikes but MacDonald is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Turner has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of MacDonald's face.
Turner can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as MacDonald is looking to escape.
Turner tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Turner's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

I think Turner has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
