Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rod White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jarkko Hakulinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hakulinen has chosen Last of the Mohicans Theme as his entrance music. Rod White could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jarkko Hakulinen's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rod White!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jarkko Hakulinen!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yuuki Gou and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White scores with a push kick.
Hakulinen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but White swivels and escapes.
White scores with a leg kick.
Hakulinen shoots in but White avoids the takedown attempt easily.
White is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

White closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
White tries for a takedown. No joy.
Hakulinen goes for a takedown attempt but White pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Rod White has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jarkko Hakulinen.
Nice takedown defense from White. No joy for Hakulinen on that attempt.
Hakulinen circles away from the clinch attempt.

Hakulinen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. White tries to avoid it but Hakulinen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag White to the ground. White escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hakulinen moves into range and clinches up with White.

White breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
White cracks the inside of Hakulinen's front leg.
Hakulinen looks gassed!

Hakulinen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hakulinen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hakulinen is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
White is holding on to half guard well.
White wants to get back to full guard.

White wants to get back to his feet.

Hakulinen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and White defends it well.
White regains full guard. Nicely done.
White trying to keep a closed guard but Hakulinen is proving a slippery customer.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
White managing to control the position.

Hakulinen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
White wants to stand and escape but Hakulinen is having none of it.

Hakulinen working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of White's head.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

White darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hakulinen is pressing down on White's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Hakulinen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
White wants to get back to his feet.
White trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
White wants to improve his position but Hakulinen is controlling well.

Hakulinen thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hakulinen misses with a takedown
and White counters with a left and a right that stings Hakulinen.

White moves into range and clinches up with Hakulinen.
Hakulinen tries to pull guard but White won't allow it.
White avoiding damage.
Hakulinen is working for takedown but White is calmly controlling the position for now.

White breaks from the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
White throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

White clinches with his opponent.
Hakulinen gets underhooks to prevent White's takedown attempt.
White using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Hakulinen has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rod White dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


White throws a series of punches but Hakulinen avoids them all with ease.

White fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hakulinen, pushing him back against the cage.
Hakulinen has White pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. White manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Hakulinen turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
White is looking to reverse the position.
A lull in the action here as Hakulinen stalls from top position.
White tries to improve position but can't.
Hakulinen is looking to take a break and control but White is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
White knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hakulinen on the ground.
White is trying to get back to half guard.

Hakulinen decides to stand up, so the ref orders White to his feet.
White closes the distance but Hakulinen moves to the side

and Hakulinen counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

White is refusing to be controlled, as Hakulinen sits in half guard.
White tries to get to full guard but Hakulinen has control of the leg.

White doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Hakulinen counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Hakulinen passes the guard and advances to mount!
White tries to hold on but Hakulinen pushes him away.
Hakulinen prevents White from getting the reversal.
Hakulinen avoids the attempt from White to control.
White is working to get back to half guard.

White flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

White is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

White defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Hakulinen.

Hakulinen is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But White has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from White!

White gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
White throws a low kick, looking for Hakulinen's leg but Hakulinen calmly moves out of range.
Rod White seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
White darts in trying to clinch

and Hakulinen counters by clinching up.

Hakulinen is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but White is keeping busy.
Hakulinen avoiding damage as White throws knees to the body.
White looking to slow down the pace here.

Hakulinen has White pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hakulinen pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending White tumbling to the mat - Hakulinen dives into White's guard.
White keeping moving, preventing Hakulinen from controlling successfully.

White is not content to let Hakulinen control the position.

Hakulinen wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by White, who protects the arm well.

Hakulinen wants to lay and pray for a moment but White keeps working.
Hakulinen in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
White tries to improve position but can't.
Hakulinen landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
White on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if White tries to get out of the position.

Hakulinen stands up.
White throws a nice looking combination but Hakulinen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jarkko Hakulinen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hakulinen's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
White can't keep his opponent in guard - Hakulinen advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hakulinen is trying for a kimura here. White looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Hakulinen wins by kimura!
