Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tosh Manosh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Umberto Eco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Manosh's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Steady mobbin. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tosh Manosh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Paulo Santos and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eco uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Manosh.

Manosh looks to land a combination. Eco sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Eco takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Manosh fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Eco tries to close the distance and clinch but Manosh swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Manosh shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Eco's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Eco can do anything to dispel that myth.

Eco working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Manosh doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Manosh manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Manosh chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Eco can pounce on him.

Eco with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Manosh to score with a decent uppercut.
Eco has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Eco there as he acknowledges the shot.
Manosh tries to bum rush Eco with a series of wild strikes but Eco uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Manosh circles away from the clinch attempt.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Manosh checks a leg kick.
Manosh ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Manosh feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
