The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pereira tries to clinch but Nogueira is having none of it.
Nogueira uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Pereira has time to react.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nogueira.
Pereira wants to clinch up but Nogueira keeps it at a distance.
Nogueira shoots in looking for a takedown. Pereira tries to sprawl out of it but Nogueira keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pereira manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ulysses Pereira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pereira tries to close the distance and clinch but Nogueira swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Nogueira is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pereira defends it well.
