Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jon Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peter Tennant!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones stuffs the takedown.
Jones misses with a series of wild punches.

Tennant changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jones looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Jones prevents Tennant from moving into mount.
You can see the frustration on Jones's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Tennant is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jones is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Tennant is putting a hurting on Jones here, landing some big shots from side control.
Jones is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Tennant is controlling him well.

Tennant looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Tennant thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Jones tries to escape but Tennant is in control.
Jones tries to improve position but can't.
Tennant throws an elbow but Jones slips to the side and avoids it well.
Jones tries to buck Tennant off but Tennant is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Tennant off and has taken his back!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Jon Jones just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Jones misses with a double jab.
Tennant dodges the punch combination from Jones.
Tennant walks into a left hand.
Tennant tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tennant somewhat.
No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Tennant feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jones is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Tennant is controlling him.
Tennant postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Tennant sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jones's guard.
Jones is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Jones tries to kick Tennant off but Tennant keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Tennant is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Jones is trying to stand back up but Tennant is controlling him
Jones on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jones tries to get out of the position.
Jones is trying to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones cracks Tennant with an open hand slap.
Jones moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Jones stuffs the takedown attempt from Tennant. Tennant gets slowly back to his feet.

Jones rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tennant moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Jones lands with a hook. Tennant tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Tennant fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jones avoids it really well and circles away.
Tennant is breathing heavily.

Tennant shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side.
Jon Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Tennant.

Tennant shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jones sprawls well. Jones wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tennant gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jones comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Tennant takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Jones lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Jones scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Jones lands a nice hook to Tennant's body. Tennant takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Jones lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Jones lunges at Tennant with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Tennant's hand.

Jones lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Jones lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tennant circles away quickly and effectively.
Jones throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jones works the jab nicely.
Jones connects with a right hand. Tennant shakes it off.
Jones fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tennant manages to avoid it.
Jones clobbers Tennant with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Tennant.
Jones throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Tennant ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jones moves away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Tennant takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Jones punishes Tennant's body with a nice straight punch.

Tennant has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

Tennant takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Tennant takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Jones slaps away a takedown attempt from Tennant, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Tennant takes a jab right on the kisser.
Tennant takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Tennant looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jones moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Tennant is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Jones dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Jones misses with a looping left.
Jones lands a head shot.
Jones throws a jab when Tennant was well out of range.

Tennant misses the shot to the body.
Jones dips to his left and cracks Tennant with an uppercut!
Jones lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
