Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Flex Wheeler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Jimenez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jimenez has chosen Twinz as his entrance music. Juan Jimenez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Flex Wheeler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Juan Jimenez!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jimenez shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Wheeler is trying to defend but Jimenez finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Jimenez throwing shots but Wheeler is blocking nicely.

Wheeler on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wheeler tries to get out of the position.

Jimenez ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jimenez no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Wheeler wants to control from the top but Jimenez keeps moving.

Wheeler controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Wheeler seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jimenez for as long as he can get away with.

Wheeler would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Jimenez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wheeler's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Wheeler is in all sorts of trouble here.
Jimenez tries to control but Wheeler wriggling away.
Jimenez is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Jimenez has hold of Wheeler's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Wheeler manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Wheeler wants to hold on but Jimenez pushes him away.
Jimenez tries to control but Wheeler wriggling away.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Wheeler tries to hold on but Jimenez postures up.

Jimenez has control of Wheeler's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Wheeler regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Wheeler is wriggling around trying to escape.
Jimenez can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Wheeler is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wheeler can't escape the position.
Jimenez with shots to the head and body - Wheeler looks very uncomfortable down there.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



The fight moves into the clinch position.
Wheeler is trying to force a seperation but Jimenez has the dominant position.
Jimenez tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Wheeler fails to pull guard.
Wheeler dodges an elbow strike from Jimenez.
Jimenez tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Jimenez jumps into guard, dragging Wheeler to the mat.
Jimenez has a closed guard, preventing Wheeler from standing up.
Jimenez wants to sweep but no luck.

Jimenez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wheeler doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wheeler manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jimenez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jimenez is breathing heavily.
Jimenez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wheeler's guard.

Jimenez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wheeler has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jimenez has managed to get both his arms back between Wheeler's legs - danger averted.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Wheeler knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jimenez on the ground.

Wheeler wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Jimenez.

Jimenez is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Wheeler can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Wheeler is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Wheeler tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Jimenez unloads with some shots from mount but Wheeler bucks and avoids them well.
Wheeler tries to reverse the position but Jimenez maintains control.
Jimenez wants to control the action but instead Wheeler gets a body lock and reverses into Jimenez's guard! Nice work!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Wheeler postures up in Jimenez's guard and throws a big left but Jimenez blocks it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jimenez.
Wheeler misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Jimenez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Wheeler wants to hold on but Jimenez pushes him away.

Jimenez looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Jimenez avoids the attempt from Wheeler to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Juan Jimenez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!


Wheeler changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jimenez tries to avoid it but Wheeler manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jimenez to the ground. Jimenez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Wheeler is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Jimenez lets go of the hold and Wheeler can pop his arm back in it's socket.
