These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matsuhiko throws a series of punches but Irvin avoids them all with ease.
Irvin loads up on a big right hand but Matsuhiko slips the punch.
Matsuhiko moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Matsuhiko works over Irvin's head and body with a nice combination.
Irvin lands a body shot.
Matsuhiko misses with a looping left.
Irvin comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Matsuhiko looks gassed!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Irvin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Irvin throws the left hand but Matsuhiko avoids the punch easily.
Irvin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Matsuhiko moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Matsuhiko takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Irvin scores with a crisp jab that stopped Matsuhiko in his tracks.

It looks like Naoki Matsuhiko has been cut.

Irvin steps into range and cracks Matsuhiko with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Matsuhiko flops backwards and Irvin dives into his guard looking to finish!

Matsuhiko is rocked!

Irvin stands and steps away. Matsuhiko gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Irvin darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Matsuhiko's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Irvin before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
