Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Oscar Roberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mick Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mick Penn told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roberts shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Penn pinned against the cage. Penn gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Penn feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Penn throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Roberts works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Penn stands up from Roberts's guard - Penn perhaps looking for a knockout.
Roberts stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Roberts wants it to stay on the feet.
Penn throws a body punch but Roberts moves out of range.
Penn changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Roberts looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Roberts pushes Penn away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Penn gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Roberts is pushing Penn's head away, looking to escape. Penn manages to hold on to the position though.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Penn counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Roberts!

Penn lands a big shot there that rocks Roberts but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Penn sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Penn postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Roberts looks a forlorn figure.
Roberts's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Penn jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Roberts manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Penn lands a few punches from side control.
Penn throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Penn is looking to take a break and control but Roberts is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Penn has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Roberts wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
No luck for Penn with that takedown attempt.
Roberts shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Roberts was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Oooooh, big shot lands for Roberts! Penn is hurt baaadly! Roberts is firing away with more strikes - Penn is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
