PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Man Boy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Buckner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boy's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Fuck u right back. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Richard Clark and Sam Margolis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boy gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Boy is looking to clinch.
Boy throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Buckner scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Boy wants to clinch up but Buckner keeps it at a distance.
Buckner shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Boy sprawls well. Boy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Buckner gets slowly back to his feet.
Boy misses with a head kick.
Buckner blocks a head kick by Boy.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Buckner, as that shot connected.
Boy throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Buckner counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Buckner scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Boy throws a right hand that Buckner ducks under and follows up with a left that Buckner also avoids with ease.

Buckner is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Boy.

Boy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Buckner paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Boy moves in looking to clinch but Buckner pushes him off.
Buckner throws a combination. Boy tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Boy wants to slow Buckner down by chopping away at his legs.
Buckner bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Boy's head.
Buckner closes the distance and clinches up with Boy, looking for a takedown. Buckner pushes Boy against the cage but Boy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Man Boy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Buckner.

Boy walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Buckner checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Boy tries to clinch but Buckner moves out of range.

Buckner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Boy tries to avoid it but Buckner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Boy to the ground. Boy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Boy does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Boy steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Buckner.
Buckner dodges the punch combination from Boy.
Buckner takes one on the chin but seems OK.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Buckner has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Buckner tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Boy swivels and escapes.

and Buckner counters with a three punch combo that has Boy backing up. Boy nods at Buckner to acknowledge the strikes.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Well Buckner has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
