PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Ferraz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Art Metroman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Anderson Ferraz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Art Metroman!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Metroman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ferraz tries to avoid it but Metroman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ferraz to the ground. Ferraz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Metroman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ferraz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Metroman shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ferraz napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Ferraz is looking for a sweep.
Ferraz sneaks back into half guard.
Metroman wants to take a breather but Ferraz is having none of it.
Metroman prevents Ferraz from improving his position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Metroman lands a big shot there that rocks Ferraz but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Metroman swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Ferraz is now in Metroman's guard. A big mistake from Metroman there, giving up the dominant position!

Ferraz wants to stand but Metroman is controlling his posture from full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ferraz scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Metroman throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Anderson Ferraz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Art Metroman.

Ferraz is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Metroman asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Ferraz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Metroman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Metroman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Metroman is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Ferraz has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Ferraz!

Metroman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Art Metroman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Metroman misses with an uppercut. Ferraz saw that one coming.
Ferraz stuffs the takedown.
Metroman walks into a straight right hand from Ferraz.
Metroman shoots in for a takedown but Ferraz shows good takedown defense.
Metroman ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ferraz moves away.

Metroman feints and as Ferraz raises his hands in defense, Metroman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Metroman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ferraz swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Metroman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ferraz defends it well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ferraz lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Ferraz throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Ferraz gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Metroman to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Ferraz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Metroman thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
