PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Borrum Someer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Giido Bushido (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Giido Bushido will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Borrum Someer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Giido Bushido!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Someer as Bushido shoots in.
Bushido looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Bushido throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Someer gets a takedown into half guard.
Someer works his way into full mount!
Bushido tries to reverse the position but Someer maintains control.

Someer wants to finish this one by submission but Bushido is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Someer.
Someer won't let Bushido get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Bushido is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Someer avoids the attempt from Bushido to control.
Bushido is controlling an arm, preventing Someer from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Bushido really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Someer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Someer working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Bushido tries to lock up and control but Someer gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Bushido reaches up to try and control the position but Someer seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Bushido rolls and tries to escape and now Someer has his back!

Someer has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Someer tries to get the hooks in deep but Bushido pushed the leg off.

Someer doesn't have the hooks in and Bushido manages to turn into his guard.
Bushido in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Someer looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Someer is breathing heavily.
Someer keeping moving, preventing Bushido from controlling successfully.
Bushido is looking to work some ground and pound but Someer has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bushido won't allow Someer to sweep him here.

Someer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bushido can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bushido accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Bushido must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Bushido keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Someer's head.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A head kick misses from Bushido.
Bushido throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Someer fails to land the takedown.
Giido Bushido seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Someer counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Bushido throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Someer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bushido swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bushido is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Bushido is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Bushido tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A head kick from Bushido lands but Someer takes it in his stride.
Bushido throws a nice inside leg kick.
Bushido is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Bushido drives through and clinches with Someer against the cage.
Someer is looking to break free of the clinch but Bushido has double underhooks.
Someer goes for a takedown in the clinch but Bushido prevents it.
Bushido lands a left hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Borrum Someer dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Someer drops back looking for a leg! Bushido is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bushido manages to kick Someer off! Someer jumps back into Bushido's guard.

Bushido throws a sloppy head kick and Someer moves out of range easily.

and Someer counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Bushido is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bushido is keen to just control but Someer is a slippery customer.
