Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gengis Kan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Grzesk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gengis Kan has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gengis Kan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Damian Grzesk!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Roberts and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grzesk ducks under a wild hook from Kan.
Kan tries to close the distance and clinch but Grzesk swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Grzesk displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kan.
Kan tries to clinch but Grzesk moves out of range.
Horrible takedown by Grzesk or perhaps it was just good defense by Kan which made him look bad.

Grzesk closes the distance and clinches.
Grzesk can't get the takedown.
Kan is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Grzesk pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Grzesk should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Grzesk lands with a light punch inside.


It looks like Gengis Kan has been cut.

Grzesk breaks from the clinch.
Kan misses with a few strikes there.
Kan fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Grzesk checks it well.

Grzesk scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Kan is trying to get back to full guard.
Grzesk trying to control the action but Kan is working from the bottom.
Grzesk prevents Kan from improving his position.
Kan makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kan.

Grzesk loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Kan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Grzesk is aware though and is defending well.
Grzesk trying to control but Kan is working from the bottom.
Kan is breathing heavily.

Kan looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Grzesk passes into half guard.

Grzesk is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kan sees it coming and defends easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Grzesk stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Kan to get to his feet.

Grzesk feints and as Kan raises his hands in defense, Grzesk changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kan keeping moving, preventing Grzesk from controlling successfully.
Grzesk wanted to stand there but Kan had control of the position.
Kan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kan looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kan wants to sweep but no luck.

Grzesk wants to control from the top but Kan keeps moving.

Kan has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Grzesk is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kan.
Kan gets back to half guard.
Kan is trying to get back to full guard.
Grzesk wants to take a breather but Kan is having none of it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kan keeping control of the position.
Grzesk passes the guard and advances to mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kan tries to hold on but Grzesk postures up.
Kan regains half guard.
Grzesk is trying to control. Kan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Kan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Damian Grzesk dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Gengis Kan's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Kan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Grzesk but Grzesk pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Kan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Grzesk is trying to control Kan's posture but Kan avoids it.
Grzesk tries to buck Kan off but Kan is having none of it.
An elbow from Kan crashes against the mat.
Kan misses with the ground and pound.
Kan looks up at the clock and then as Grzesk takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Kan smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Kan throws an elbow but Grzesk slips to the side and avoids it well.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Grzesk is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kan is controlling him well.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kan tries to clinch there but Grzesk circles away.

Grzesk looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Kan wants to control but Grzesk is keeping busy.
Kan works his way to full guard. Good work.
Grzesk trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Kan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Grzesk gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Kan has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Kan had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Grzesk defends it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Grzesk slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Kan is looking to regain half guard here but Grzesk keeps moving and retains side control.

Grzesk tries for a kimura but Kan is defending well.
Kan wants to control but Grzesk postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kan is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Grzesk's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Grzesk trying to control the action but Kan is working from the bottom.

Grzesk seems to be working for a kimura but Kan defends the submission attempt.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Grzesk tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kan throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Gengis Kan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Grzesk shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kan sprawls well. Kan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Grzesk gets slowly back to his feet.
Kan fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Grzesk decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kan moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Grzesk wants to stand but Kan is controlling his posture from full guard.

Kan looking for a guillotine here but Grzesk defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Grzesk is looking to land body kicks.
Grzesk moves out of range of the strikes.
A telegraphed right hand from Kan misses the target.
Grzesk misses with a body kick.

Grzesk forces Kan back against the cage and clinches.
Kan jumps guard but Grzesk stands there with Kan around his waist. Kan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Kan looking for a takedown.
Kan drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Grzesk gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gengis Kan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Grzesk lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Nice body punch from Grzesk.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Grzesk tries for a takedown. No joy.

Grzesk breaks from the clinch.
Grzesk scoring well with a low kick there.

Grzesk lands a two punch combo.

Grzesk feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Damian Grzesk has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kan seems keen to control Grzesk's posture.
Kan on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kan tries to get out of the position.
Grzesk sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kan's guard.

Kan looking for submissions off his back.
Kan moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Kan manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Kan landing punches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kan postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Grzesk looks a forlorn figure.
Kan with a couple of short strikes.
Grzesk is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
BOOM! Kan connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Grzesk wants to hold on but Kan pushes him away.
Kan lands a big elbow.

Kan looking to isolate an arm here. Grzesk doesn't see it coming and as Kan extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Kan!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:02 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Gengis Kan!
