PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nikolas Romanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwight Schrute (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schrute has chosen Thunderstruck by AC DC as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nikolas Romanov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dwight Schrute!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romanov moves out of range of the strikes.
Schrute throws a lazy right hand but Romanov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Schrute misses with the combination.
Romanov keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Romanov cracks Schrute with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

It looks like Dwight Schrute has been cut.
No joy there for Romanov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Schrute throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Romanov connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Romanov connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Schrute's hands.
A shot to the body from Schrute misses
and Romanov counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Romanov walks into a left hand.
Schrute tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Romanov was well out of range. Poor timing from Schrute.
Romanov drops his hands momentarily and Schrute takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Romanov throws a shot to the body.
Romanov lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Schrute circles away quickly and effectively.
Schrute misses with a straight right.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Romanov misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Schrute waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Romanov.
Romanov lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That has opened up Dwight Schrute's cut even more.
A combination from Romanov does no damage.
Romanov fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Schrute looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Schrute looks gassed!
Romanov works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Romanov drops Schrute with a naaaaasty hook - Schrute is in real trouble here! Romanov dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
