Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Degale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Munoz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hector Munoz is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Degale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Hector Munoz!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Degale fails with a takedown attempt.

Munoz clinches.

Munoz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Munoz connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.


It looks like John Degale has been cut.
Degale wants to clinch but Munoz slips to the side
and Munoz counters with a body kick.
John Degale seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Munoz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Munoz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Degale but Degale pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Munoz shoots in but no luck this time.

A nice right hand lands inside from Munoz.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Munoz cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Munoz is trying to drag Degale to the mat but Degale just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Munoz thuds his right hand into Degale's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Degale. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Degale has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Munoz is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Degale.
Munoz remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Munoz stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Munoz has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Munoz throws a series of punches but Degale moves out of range.

Degale throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Munoz's waist but Munoz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Degale off to one side.

Munoz gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Degale tries to pull guard but Munoz holds him up against the cage and eventually Degale drops back down to his feet.

Munoz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Horrible takedown by Munoz or perhaps it was just good defense by Degale which made him look bad.

Munoz bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Degale is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Munoz is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Degale is squirming around, avoiding Munoz's attempts to control the action.
Munoz postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Degale looks a forlorn figure.
Degale wants to control but Munoz is having none of it.

Degale wants to hold on but Munoz pushes him away.
Munoz connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Munoz prevents Degale from getting the reversal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Degale is trying desperately to improve position.
Degale knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Munoz on the ground.
Degale is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
John Degale has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hector Munoz is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Hector Munoz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Munoz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
