Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marlin Paschal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Domink Bylicki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marlin Paschal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Domink Bylicki!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Paschal instigates a clinch.
A body shot lands from Paschal.
Paschal tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bylicki smiles and moves away.
Bylicki wants to clinch.

Bylicki bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bylicki is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Paschal is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Bylicki is looking to take a break and control but Paschal is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Paschal struggling a bit here.
Paschal is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Paschal is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bylicki is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Bylicki avoids the strikes from the bottom by Paschal.

Paschal is defending against the submission attempts here by Bylicki.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Paschal wants to clinch but Bylicki slips to the side
and Bylicki connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Paschal is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bylicki is controlling him.
Bylicki must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Paschal is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Bylicki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Paschal. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Paschal looking to sit in guard and control but Bylicki gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Bylickiis looking to pass into half guard but Paschal pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Paschal is in guard.
Paschal throws a big right hand that misses.
Bylicki wants to stand but Paschal is controlling the position.
Paschal is looking to advance position but Bylicki has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Bylicki avoids the attempt from Paschal to control.
Paschal is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Domink Bylicki dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Paschal sneaks back into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bylicki is pushing down on Paschal's leg trying to pass to half guard. Paschal is fighting to maintain full guard but Bylicki has managed to sneak the leg through.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Paschal seems a little lost for a moment, as Bylicki dominates the positioning.

Bylicki prevents Paschal from standing back up.
Paschal is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Bylicki wants to take a breather but Paschal is having none of it.
Bylicki thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Paschal's head.

A looping hook to the body misses from Bylicki. Paschal does a little dance to reset his feet.
Paschal connects with a high kick.

Bylicki clinches with his opponent.
Paschal wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Paschal decides to pull guard.
Paschal lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bylicki!

Paschal moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Bylicki has worked his arm free - good work by Bylicki!
Bylicki tries to bench press Paschal off him but Paschal keeps the position.

Paschal wants to control but Bylicki is keeping him busy.
Domink Bylicki has got the better of the ground game so far.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Domink Bylicki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Paschal's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bylicki can do anything to dispel that myth.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bylicki thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
