The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Campbell shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Campbell showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Campbell is looking to advance position but Fleury won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Campbell shoots for a takedown but Fleury saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Fleury tries to close the distance and clinch but Campbell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Campbell shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Campbell was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Campbell has hold of Fleury's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Fleury manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Fleury has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Campbell is working away from the top position though.

That was a close round but I would say that Che Campbell will probably get the nod.

Simone Fleury seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
