Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Schmidli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Klem Hopper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Schmidli might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Busta Rhymes - Ante Up. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcus Schmidli!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Klem Hopper!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Sam Margolis and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmidli moves in looking to clinch but Hopper pushes him off.
Schmidli fails in his attempt to clinch.

Hopper scores with a body shot.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Hopper!
Schmidli doesn't manage to clinch there - Hopper circles away.
Nice takedown defense from Hopper. No joy for Schmidli on that attempt.
Hopper looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hopper swinging wildly here.
Schmidli walks into a left hand.

Hopper clinches up against the cage.
Schmidli tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hopper just stands there and leans against the cage.

Hopper breaks the clinch.
Hopper misses with a wild combination.

Schmidli tries to keep at a distance but Hopper has taken the fight into the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Schmidli tries to pull guard but Hopper holds him up against the cage and eventually Schmidli drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Schmidli. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hopper tries to free his leg and advance position but Schmidli is retaining full guard.

Schmidli has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hopper can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hopper cracks Schmidli with a solid left hand.

Schmidli had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hopper defends it easily.
Schmidli preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Hopper trying to control the position from guard on top but Schmidli is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hopper chips away with some ground and pound.

Schmidli has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hopper is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Schmidli.
Schmidli tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Hopper presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Schmidli is breathing heavily.
Hopper postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Schmidli looks a forlorn figure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Schmidli defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Hopper.
Hopper is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Schmidli can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Hopper prevents Schmidli from getting the reversal.
Hopper pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Schmidli is in all sorts of trouble here.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Hopper connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Schmidli can't escape the position.
Hopper with shots to the head and body - Schmidli looks very uncomfortable down there.
Schmidli is wriggling around trying to escape.

A nice elbow there by Hopper.
Hopper is landing with some decent strikes but Schmidli is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Schmidli can't escape the position.
Schmidli is in a horrible position here. Hopper smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Hopper with the ground and pound from mount.
Schmidli is looking to improve his position but Hopper isn't that keen on the idea.
Hopper trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Hopper might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Schmidli kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Schmidli is looking to get to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Klem Hopper dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Hopper scores with a nice strike.
Schmidli takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Hopper forces Schmidli back against the cage and clinches.
Schmidli fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Hopper breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Schmidli tries to clinch up
enabling Hopper to counter with a crisp jab.


Schmidli is rocked!


It looks like Marcus Schmidli has been cut.
Marcus Schmidli seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hopper fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Hopper has taken the fight to the clinch.
Schmidli fails to pull guard.

Hopper breaks the clinch.
A left lands for Hopper.
Oh Schmidli is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Schmidli tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Hopper counters with a nice uppercut.
Hopper throws a right hand that Schmidli ducks under and follows up with a left that Schmidli also avoids with ease.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hopper closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Schmidli! Hopper dives in looking to finish! Schmidli is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Klem Hopper!
