Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kim Jong Thrill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Max Powers!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thrill fails to land the takedown.
Decent striking displayed by Powers there.
Powers is looking to clinch but Thrill is avoiding it.
Powers misses with a straight right.
Thrill is trying hard to land a takedown here. Powers sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Thrill takes the fight into the clinch.
Thrill tries to pull guard but Powers holds him up against the cage and eventually Thrill drops back down to his feet.

Powers wants to break free but Thrill has control.

Thrill throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Thrill seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Thrill drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Thrill jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Powers wants to stand up but Thrill is controlling him.
Powers utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Thrill accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Thrill prevents Powers from getting back to his feet.

Thrill wants to control from the top but Powers keeps moving.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Powers fails to land with a series of punches.
Thrill tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
No luck for Thrill with that takedown attempt.

Thrill drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Powers on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Thrill tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Powers is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Thrill asserts his dominance and retains side control.

and Thrill counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

You get the feeling that Powers really doesn't like being in this position too much.

and Thrill counters with a single leg into guard. Powers didn't expect that.

Thrill has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Thrill postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Powers wants to get back to his feet but Thrill drags him back down.

Powers seems a little lost for a moment, as Thrill dominates the positioning.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Thrill wants to lay and pray for a moment but Powers keeps working.
Powers takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Thrill jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Powers walks away with a smile on his face. Thrill gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Powers gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Thrill in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Thrill advances to half guard.
Thrill takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Thrill thows a huge punch but Powers dodges it nicely.
Thrill missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Powers is not content to let Thrill control the position.
Max Powers has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Kim Jong Thrill showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Thrill, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
