The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khoury thows a body shot but no joy.
Pakamara tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Khoury misses with a body kick.
Khoury tries to score with a low kick but Pakamara moves his leg out of the way.

Pakamara shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Khoury is trying to defend but Pakamara finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Pakamara wants to free his trapped foot but Khoury is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Khoury tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Pakamara is looking to take a break and control but Khoury is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Khoury looks to move to half guard but instead Pakamara has passed into mount! Damn!
Khoury tries to lock up and control but Pakamara gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Khoury sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Pakamara prevents Khoury from improving his position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pakamara seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Pakamara lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Pakamara moves into full mount! Khoury won't be happy about that!

Pakamara has hold of Khoury's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Khoury manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

BOOM! Pakamara connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Khoury takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Pakamara is working for a guillotine from mount but Khoury frees his head quite easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Khoury keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Khoury wants to control but Pakamara is having none of it.

Pakamara has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Khoury bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Khoury got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pakamara has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Khoury has managed to get both his arms back between Pakamara's legs - danger averted.
Khoury wants to control from the top but Pakamara keeps moving.
Khoury must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Khoury controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Pakamara counters with a left and a right that stings Khoury.
Pakamara tries to clinch but Khoury moves out of range.

A head kick misses from Khoury.

Khoury gets caught flat footed, as Pakamara shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Khoury looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Pakamara passes into side control.
Pakamara has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Khoury!
Pakamara fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Pakamara prevents Khoury from getting the reversal.
Pakamara unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Khoury wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Pakamara celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
